The challenge
The existing road connection could not absorb the traffic generated by three major commercial facilities in the same area. Safe entry and exit for heavy vehicles was required without interrupting flow on the main axis, and the works had to be carried out with all stores fully trading.
Our solution
We extended the traffic connection and built a new intersection with dedicated deceleration and acceleration lanes, so trucks merge without breaking the traffic flow. Works were phased, with temporary diversions that kept customer access open throughout.
